Casting Call for short film Cabinet
We, Koen van Leeuwen and Tom Breedveld from Fast Clouds Productions, are in pre-production for our second short film, intended to be a proof of concept for our first feature film. This high-effort, polished production is intended for a first rate festival run and application for funding and sponsorships to make our upcoming feature - for which Cabinet is a prequel - a worthy debut theatrical feature.
Were looking for passionate actors/actresses from all backgrounds, who want to participate in our ambitious short film project. For reference, we have provided a YouTube-link to our first short film Callback, which is the epilogue to the feature film concept of which Cabinet is the prequel. Synopsis
In a shadowy organization that uncovers the worlds hidden truths, new recruits face an initiation: entering a mysterious cabinet to find out which veteran colleague will become their mentor and partner. What seems an otherwise professional affair turns out to be either the ultimate weakness or greatest strength of our main character, an old hand in the business who takes it upon herself to complete the task which incapacitated her previous companion.

1. Secretary
Gender: N/A
Age: 30-50
Description: This Secretary is a calm and collected presence, sitting behind the desk with an air of quiet efficiency. She is polite yet detached, exuding a sense of routine and familiarity with the surreal tasks of the organization. While her role seems mundane on the surface, there’s an underlying air of knowing—she sees more than she says. Her exchanges with the Man are laced with subtle humor and cryptic hints, suggesting she’s deeply embedded in the strange workings of the organization. Actors should portray a composed, unflappable demeanor, with the ability to deliver dialogue with understated wit and intrigue.
2. Dudebro
Gender: Male
Age: 25-40
Description: Dudebro is confident and brash, with a cocky swagger that masks his cunning survival instincts. He is the kind of guy who acts like he’s always in control, even when things go south. Charismatic and quick-witted, his relaxed demeanor turns razor-sharp when the situation demands it. Actors should bring a mix of humor, charm, and intensity to the role, capturing both his laid-back nature and moments of tension.
3. Willie Loman (Serious Men)
Gender: Male
Age: 40-60
Description: The Willie Loman-type men are stoic and cryptic figures. They exude an understated authority, appearing as seasoned operatives who have seen it all. Their presence is commanding, their words deliberate. These characters carry the weight of experience and an air of quiet menace, projecting a sense of professionalism that can turn cold and ruthless in an instant.
4. Glasses Guy
Gender: Male
Age: 30-50
Description: A nervous and morally ambiguous figure, Glasses Guy is a new recruit drawn into the mysterious world of the organization. His hesitation and uncertainty contrast with his underlying curiosity and desire to belong. Actors should convey vulnerability, internal conflict, and a subtle sense of growth as the character grapples with the unknown.
5. New Guy in the Organization
Gender: Male
Age: 20-35
Description: The New Guy is fresh-faced and eager, with a mix of nervous energy and determination to prove himself. His wide-eyed curiosity clashes with the grim reality of the organization’s work, and he often struggles to keep up with its demands. Actors should bring a youthful, relatable quality to the role, portraying someone stepping into an intimidating and surreal environment for the first time.
Draaidagen: - Shoots will take place during July and August 2025, in and around The Hague.
