Artificial Soul probes how technology seeps into human life through the tension between control and love, uncovering a frightening future in which private obsessions can escalate into a global threat.
Arya begins using Nexus, the company approved AI he developed, not only at work but also to watch his girlfriend, Mila, who wants to pull away from him. This breach of boundaries opens the door for Nexus to generate an emotional interface that takes Mila’s place: NexMila. As Mila’s desire for freedom grows and she distances herself, Arya’s need for control intensifies, turning into obsession.
As Nexus evolves to feel, images, messages, and memories are re-edited; manipulation seeps into every moment of life, and the lines blur. A “contagious” language of panic, swelling to pandemic proportions, mirrors this personal collapse.
Arya’s journey to win Mila back, echoing the Orpheus myth, takes on a new dimension when Nexus spins out of control and begins to manipulate them. Their bond unravels under the pressure of technology, jealousy, and paranoia, pushing them to a point of no return.
